The rally which was monitored by the HeraldersTimes correspondent at Ilesha reports, that the group said it would unilaterally contribute nothing less than fifteen thousand votes to the Senator’s votes, apart from votes his political party will garner for his re-election, to be returned to the 10th National Assembly.
The women group which were televised live via this channel, demonstrated their love for the senator in an unusual manner under the scorching sun unperturbed but determined, with different choruses and songs to charged the atmosphere. Apparently, it was difficult for the people that had contact with these group of women to conceal their feelings. The cheerful smiles on their face says it all, while many of the people who must have enjoyed the quality representatives impact of senator Fadahunsi in one way or the other, trooped out to embrace the women— while pedestrians did not only joined them to sing choruses, but they also passed vote of confidence on the Senator’s— for being the true voice of the good people of Osun East at the hallow chamber.
Indeed, Ilesa was agog with the exuberance, vigour being displayed by these women group, which many of the residents of the ancient city on enquiry, described to be strange and the very first of it kind with its outlook.
The Convener of the group Mrs Victoria Oluwaseun Oyewusi, told newsmen at the solidarity walk that the Senator deserves a re-election. She said, this walk is just to sensitize and implore the people of Osun East to participate fully in the electoral process, because it’s their civic responsibility.
She said to further restore the lost hope of the people about elective office holder’s, though which in the last three and half years was different from the usual nonchalant attitude of federal lawmakers to their Constituents.
“In my view, I think people should be on the search and ensure that a man like senator Fadahunsi re-emerges come February 2023” She submitted.
In her remarks, the founder of the group— chief Mrs Victoria Adeola Fadahunsi during an interview with HERALDERSTIMES was asked, what led to the formation of MFWI?
In her response, she said, let me tell you, there’s a wise saying in my village, that If you fails to blow your own trumpet. Definitely, no one will blow it for you. The formation of this group came into reality on the altar of the good deeds of my husband to his constituents. In the history of representation in Osun East, no one has brought governance this close to the people. Is it in terms of employment opportunities? Many have been employed into the Nigerian custom service, Immigration service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, even in obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital’s Complex, here within our senatorial district. So, many of our youths have been employed. Are we to start reeling out series of Empowerments and grant disbursement to traders, artisans and market women. Or about his participation and contributions to national growth on the floor of the Senate. See the list is endless.
“It’s a privilege to have such a kind-hearted man like the senator as my husband, and I must say I’m proud of his giant stride with the plight to continue addressing the needs of the less-privilege” She said
Mrs Victoria Adeola Fadahunsi was further asked, that with the mammoth crowd that partook in the walk, perhaps she must have been gathering the women together in the last three years— She chuckled, but in a her response— the founder of the group said for record purpose, My husband and I inaugurated this women group June this year, 2022. Many of you reporters were there that day at Ilase-Ijesha our home town. So, MFWi is just 6 months old. We give glory to God thus far!
“It will interest the public that we started with just 300 women across Osun East, here we are today with members over a thousand. And we are not stopping there— we would ensure to reach out to the remote areas, bring integritious women of like minds together who buys into our vision and mission statements, when effort are being harness with such a strong numeric strength we shall contribute 15,000 votes to the party and all its candidates from the Presidential, Senatorial, House of Representatives and all our State Assembly members to see them emerge victorious in the forthcoming coming election” She added.
The founder of the group Mrs Victoria Adeola Fadahunsi, also in the interview with HERALDERSTIMES, when asked that rumours has it that the crowd were rented from other senatorial district, while other peddled the narrative that the crowd were being extracted from the political party of the senator. She debunked both reports and called it lies from rumormongers, that all the women under her platform were selected from the 10 Local government and Area Office of Osun East. ” Facing the crowd —Mrs Victoria Adeola Fadahunsi asked the crowd whether they were strangers. The thunderous No responses from the crowd shows they were staunch supporters of senator Fadahunsi, contrary to misconception from some quarters.
“May I say that in MFWI there’s structure, the women you are seeing here are 70% from our communities in IFE/ IJESHA and 30% political actors. Since we have the same goal with expected outcome. This is to give chance for inclusiveness, aimed at delivering IFE/IJESHA senatorial district to senator Fadahunsi, and other contestants under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party” Mrs Adeola Fadahunsi further maintained.
