APC GAINS TRACTION IN AKWA-IBOM AS SEVEN REPS ANNOUNCE DEFECTION.
HeraldersTimes has reliably gathered that no fewer than Seven members of the House of Representatives from Akwa Ibom State whom were predominantly of the PDP extraction have officially switched allegiance from the opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress. (APC).
The lawmakers, previously elected under the banners of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Young Progressives Party (YPP), announced their defection on Thursday in separate letters addressed to the Speaker of the House, RT.Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
The defectors include Unyime Idem, Martin Esin, Paul Ekpo, Uduak Alphonsos, Eteh Ikpong, Emmanuel Udom, and Okon Bassey.
Their move comes just weeks after the defection of Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency Umo Eno from the PDP to the APC.
