Buhari Hosts El-Rufai in Daura After Meeting Atiku
Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s residence in Daura, Katsina State, is rapidly becoming a key destination for prominent Nigerian politicians. This trend is evident following the recent visits by influential political figures.
Traditionally, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, ex-Military President Ibrahim Babangida, and former Head of State Abdulsalami Abubakar were the primary hosts for political discussions. However, Daura is now gaining similar prominence.
In the latest developments, former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State visited Buhari’s Daura residence, just a day after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar made a similar visit. Just like Atiku, El-rufai is having conflicts with the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both state and federal levels.
The reasons behind these visits remain speculative, however pundits were of the views that the said visit may be part of broader politicking for positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.
