Character Assassination: Faces behind Ekimogun Roundtable Revealed —Ondo Group Raises Alarm.

The HeraldersTimes had reliably gathered that an Ondo indigenous group under the aegis of Ondo Progressive Forum, led by Comrade Toba Akintade, has condemned in strong terms the latest slander campaign against the House of Representatives Member representing Ondo Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, Hon. Abiola Makinde by a faceless group known as Ekimogun Roundtable.

This was contained in a Statement issued and made available to our Correspondent during the briefing; he said “A gang of people, motivated by malice and personal vendettas, has launched a concerted campaign to discredit a respected member of the House of Representatives. This faction, motivated by their own self-serving ambitions, has resorted to circulating false accusations and misleading information in an attempt to smudge the integrity and reputation of this respected person. Their techniques are nothing short of vile, as they strive to manipulate public opinion by falsehoods and deception, while ignoring the truth and the true contributions made by the representative to their community and the nation as whole”

He went on to say that despite the outstanding service and dedication of this House member, these adversaries remain undaunted in their smear campaign, seeking to denigrate the member’s accomplishments and undermine the trust that has built with his people over the years.

“We have been able to unravel the faces behind the Ekimogun Roundtable who have sustained a social media onslaught against our House of Reps Member, Hon Abiola Makinde” He maintained.

Comrade Akintade was quoted as saying ” It would interest members of the Public to know that the ringleader of the group is one Mr Niyi Akingunola, SA to Mr Bola Ilori who runs NEFGAD, a public procurement advocacy group which he uses to blackmail legislators around the country. Seeing that Honourable Makinde will not bend to his will nor part away with his money, Niyi resorted to media trial against our Honorable. We find this appalling and totally condemnable. Hon Makinde is the best representative we have had since the inception of Ondo. It begs the question what Niyi Akingunola, someone who has not contributed anything whatsoever to the development of Ondo, stands to gain in trying to bring down a performing Rep Member”

“Another member of the Ekimogun Roundtable is Segun Adesemoye. He has reportedly been an antagonist of the Member House of Representatives since he was let go many years ago. His recent motivation to join the course of Ekimogun Roundtable is borne out of the fact that he has approached Hon Abiola Makinde many times to buy him a car because of his health condition which has not been met with a favorable response” He submitted.

“Kayode Fagun is another Ondo son that we are utmostly disappointed in for his role in this unfortunate conspiracy against the people’s Representative”

Comrade Akintade cap it all as saying “These set of people do not represent the interest of the entire Ondo people and they do not speak for us as a people. The youth bodies, the Osemawe-in-council, traditional rulers and all well-meaning sons and daughters of Ondo within and outside Nigeria condemn these acts as they do not represent what being true Ondos stand for. We do not pull ourselves down for self-adulation and monetary gratifications. We will no longer stand aloof and watch these people bring disrepute to our community”
