…”Says Easter which commemorates the resurrection of Christ signifies the ultimate symbol of Hope”
In the history of Christinity, Easter follows Lent, a period of 40 days, which traditionally is observed by acts of penance and fasting.
It is on the premise of the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration that the Ranking House of Representatives Member, representing the Ife Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber, Hon Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro has preached the necessity of Love , Hope and Sacrifice on the auspicious occasion of Easter celebration amidst the Christian faithful and the political class in his Constituency and beyond.
Member of Parliament, Ajilesoro speaking to Sunday HeraldersTimes says the true meaning of Easter is about the love Jesus has for man kind and the purpose and peace he gives.
“Today, as we commemorate HIS resurrection at Easter , we are by extension reviving the convenant of peace and blessing which HE brought about with salvation”
Hon. Ajilesoro who elucidates further on the significance of love, also encouraged the Christians to be faithful towards one another, he also spoke on the reasons why they should imbibe therein as Christ loves the church. He said: ” My message to you all as we celebrate the commemoration of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is to radiate not just ordinary love but Agape love towards one another; which is most often crowned as the highest form of christian love. When we are able to emulate Christ by showing agape love which is; unconditional, sacrificial and reciprocal even when the love is not reciprocated. We are indeed replicating the teaching and in-depth of what we have learnt during the lent period”
Hon. Ajilesoro equally sent the message of hope to his constituents in particular, by extension the State and the entire nation as a whole never to be despaired during this challenging time in the history of the country where food inflation is shooting the roof on daily basis.
He was quoted as saying: “We may face setbacks as a nation, failures, and disappointments that can make us feel hopeless. However, Easter reminds us that there is always hope for a better future”. More importantly, let us recall that the resurrection of Christ signifies the ultimate symbol of Hope. This shows that even in the darkest moment as recession engulfs every facets of our economy — I speak to you today; there is a possibility of redemption and renewal” Hon. Ajilesoro professed.
He seized the occasion of Easter celebration to re-mphasize on the very essence of portraying the Christ-like sacrifice that brought about the commemoration of Easter celebration. While also charging the political class regardless of their political divide to imbibe that selflessness as exemplified by Christ.
“Another crucial lesson of Easter is sacrifice. Jesus Christ willingly gave up his life on the cross for the sake of others. He sacrificed his comfort, safety, and well-being to save humanity from sin and death. What a selfless quality! MP Ajilesoro Stated.
He went further saying leadership requires sacrifice. ” As leaders, We must be willing to put the collective needs of those we represent or govern ahead of our desires or ambitions. We must be willing to make difficult decisions that may be unpopular or even painful; while we remain focus working assiduously to improving the welfare of the less-privileged and providing physical infrastructures where necessary to make life more meaningful for our people” He Concluded.
