Expect More Dividends of Quality Representation in the New Year— Hon Ajilesoro tells Constituents

The Member Representing Ife Federal Constituency at The House of Representatives, The Green Chamber, Honourable Abimbola Taofeek Ajilesoro has assured his constituents of continued and effective representation occasioned by his desire to create life touching programs in 2023. In a new year message he stated the following:
“Today, as we gather with our families and friends while ushering in 2023, I want to specially wish you and your loved ones a safe, prosperous and healthy New year. We have much to be grateful for as we close out 2022 and embark on 2023. The new year is always a hopeful time when the possibility of fulfilling our personal, professional and political endeavors feels limitless. I want to unequivocally but with all sense of responsibility as your representative in the hallowed chamber of the Federal House of Representatives tell you that 2023 is going to be a great year for more dividends of quality representation than you have enjoyed under my watch.”
Honourable Ajilesoro in a New Year message entitled “Hope Rekindled with God of all Possibilities” signed and made available to newsmen in Ile-ife by his Senior Legislative Aide Mr Seun Arewa on January 1, 2023, said his constituents should expect more dividends of quality representation.
” Good people of our ancient City, though, at a gradual pace, I’m working assiduously to launch you to the realm were all our lost hopes as they relate to governance and effective representation shall be rekindled. This has been the path I towed in the last three and half years of representing you, and I can say to you all today without mincing words, that we have achieved a lot of success stories since my assumption of office. However, may I tell you, coupled with recent developments in the polity, that 2023 is going to be a great year for Ife community in particular, and the people of Osun State as a whole as we welcome a new Democratic Dispensation which would change the tides of bad governance and administer the affairs of the state in the next four years. With the present team under the leadership of His Excellency Senator Ademola Adeleke and his deputy His Excellency Kola Adewusi, who is the second Osun state deputy governor of Ife extraction in the state, there is little doubt that Ile-Ife’s brightest days are ahead of us. Surefootedly, I can tell you also, this new leadership will leave a legacy that will offer parents, the political class, young people and working families an enabling environment to aspire to economic and academic heights.”
“And fortunately, It is that spirit of Progressive and Caring Leadership that my family and I are known for, and which had eventually crowned me with Victory in my election into the Federal House of Representatives that still remains my mantra. It would sustain me as I prepare for re-election in 2023.”
Reviewing 2022, the Honourable said:it was full of landmark achievements and added that Almighty Allah who teaches us in the two Holy books that with Him nothing shall be impossible gave him the enablement to achieve those giant strides in the areas of Education, Health, Agriculture, Physical Infrastructure & Human empowerment. So continuing, he said,
“During our campaign prior to 2019 General Election, we made a lot of promises. With the guidance of Almighty Allah, we have provided empowerment programs that included but not limited to donation of motorcycles, Saloon cars, and scholarships to constituents.”
” We also gave out starter packs to our trainees to boost Small and Medium Enterprises. Just recently, precisely on December 23rd, 2022, I reached out to over 700 constituents across Ife Federal Constituency in form of cash grants to boost their businesses. This did not include the quarterly based grant being doled out to some 200 indigens and dwellers of Ife Federal Constituency which was done without any form of political party affiliation.”
“We have also been able to strengthen our educational support schemes covering Primary and Secondary schools in the four local governments and area office. We have supported them with Instructional materials, note and textbooks, payments of bursaries and scholarships to brilliant but less-privileged pupils and students.”
“And for record purpose, in the areas of legislation, I have sponsored quite a number of bills and raised numerous motions which had received swift attention from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government. This was aimed at making livelihood more pleasant for the common man. We have also contributed to the passage of bills, of which some have received assents into law, while some are awaiting assent from the President. Relatively, these gestures were made with the hope of offering wide ranging service to our Constituents, State and Nation.”
” Convincingly, I can tell you that with our intention to roll out other life-touching programs soon, you would all be further entitled dividends of quality representation. The hope of the downtrodden shall always be rekindled, as you have all witnessed from all our programs in 2022. Emphatically, no stone was left unturned when it came to alleviating poverty which unfortunately is endemic in our society. Moreover, we have brought governance even much closer to the people of Ife Federal Constituency which was very much unlike before.”
“As I have said elsewhere, and I hereby reiterate, that within the first quarter of the year 2023, the construction of the entire road network ongoing in Irebami Community, Fajuyi in Ife Central Local Government shall be completed, and be available for commuters and dwellers of that community. May I also let you know that in the 2023 budget proposal, now already passed by both chambers of the National Assembly, we had earlier mapped out some communities in other local governments that would receive road rehabilitation and construction intervention.”
“I, as your representative, am not unaware of your concerns and agitation to have an enabling atmosphere for businesses to thrive. However, I must commend your resilience, doggedness and understanding. We all patronize the same market, and I feel your pains. Last year has been economically very difficult for people, and it was more pronounced and compounded by inflation in prices of food. As a legislator, there’s little I can do in this regard since economic levers are not in our hands, but I shall continue in my quest to make livelihood more pleasant to you. May I also let you know that many of your demands which have been channeled to me have duly been given swift attention in the 2023 Budget of Fiscal Consolidation and Transition recently passed, and positioned to consolidate the benefits of the 2022 Budget.”
The Honourable, popularly known as “The Star Boy” also urged constituents to begin the New Year with introspection, stressing that rededication was germane and crucial to achieving enhanced socio-economic and political growth and stability.
Still in his message he said:
“The year 2023 should begin with introspection. May I say this, that the rebirth of Ile-Ife of our dreams— that which we earnestly yearn for— could only be achieved through rededication, utmost commitment and display of patriotism. In essence, for egalitarianism to be the Hallmark of our society, we all have a role to play. So, as Ife sons and daughters, it should be our collective will to put the core interest of our ancient City above ourselves and above any political party differences at all times. We should remember that no other place can replace our ancestral home, so we must all harness efforts to continue making it a place of our pride.”
“Before I conclude, permit me to appreciate all my staff and aides who are working assiduously with me in office to make your voice to be heard through me in that hallowed chamber. I appreciate you all for your perseverance and unalloyed loyalty shown in the discharge of all assignments as instructed during the year. I would be ever proud of you all. This I have come to realize: that as leaders, that as leaders, if you don’t have a good assistant or aides, you’re in trouble. So thanks for your competent work done so far.”
” Overtime I have been inundated with series of text messages, Suggestions and Opinions. Which you can all attest to had been swiftly heeded to in one way or the other, if not all. In this vein, so as to serving you more, and to forestall any forms of communication breach. In the meantime, we shall make public the platform where as constituents you can speak directly to your representative via electronic mail and receive a reply in 24 hours. Similarly, Our Mobile hour shall also be rejigged as an alternative for our aged once to channel their requests to me” he added.
Conclusively, Hon. Ajilesoro offered utmost appreciation to Almighty Allah for his guidance, love and bountiful provision for the year ended 2022. He wished everyone a flourishing 2023 and welcomed all and sundry to a season of Rekindled Hope in Ife Federal Constituency.
