Oluwasegun Falade Reporting

Ile-Ife, Osun State Nigeria.

….Says the deplorable condition of the road for years has impacted negatively the socioeconomic activities of the area.

SUNDAY HERALDERSTIMES, has learnt that the performing Member of Parliament representing the good people of Ife Federal Constituency in person of Hon. Taofeeq Abimbola Ajilesoro, fondly called the “Star Boy” by both old and young within his constituency has commissioned road project within his Federal Constituency.

Readers would recalled that He (Hon. Ajilesoro) had something ago granted an interview with our correspondent where he had recounted some of his activities within the hollow chamber of the 9th House of Representatives. As a man of noble Pedigree, who makes his words his bond. Back then during our media chat with him, he had promised the residents of Irebami Quarters of Ife Central local government asphalt laying of their deplorable road and well-channelled drainage system.

It is pertinent to submit that our correspondent who witnessed the commissioning of the 1.5 km Irebami access road in Ife Central local government of Osun State have reported the level of commitment, quality to betell when it comes to the standard thickness of the asphalt laying of the road and the hundred percent completion of the road.

This strategic move by Hon. Ajilesoro signals his developmental strides and efforts to bringing the dividend of good democracy nearer to his People.

Speaking during the commissioning of the project; Ajilesoro said: “the project we all gathered to commission today was a capital project, which had been lobbied for through the mandate given unto me to represent Ife Federal Constituency in the 9th House of Representatives. I return all the glory to the Almighty Allah for the political will to have facilitated this beautiful edifice of road infrastructure for the use of my constituents”

“I also commend our Governor, His Excellence Senator Ademola Adeleke for taking the lead when it comes to construction of motorable road network within the state. So, many areas within the state including my Federal constituency has received numerous of this road infrastructural facilities. I must say we are proud of his good works” . He further stressed.

It was also gathered that the Member of Parliament, Ajilesoro was joined by members of the state House of Assembly from Ife federal constituency namely, Ife North, Ife East, Ife South and Ife Central, State Commissioners and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial chairman for Osun East, Hon. Akin Famuyide, whom in his capacity declared the road open for the benefit of commuters and residents of Irebami Quarters.

While fielding questions from newsmen , Hon. Ajilesoro urges the beneficiaries of the road to reciprocate the governments gesture by taking responsibility for keeping the road from refuse, drainage blockages, He equally mentioned that giving adequate attention to road infrastructure would continue to be part of the legislative benefits to be enjoyed by the good people of Ife federal constituency.

In his words, ” let’s me seize this medium to tell our people in The Ife federal constituency that in the 2024 budget; as usual, We have been able to lobby for some road projects by the time the budget comes into effect towards August or September, we would announce where the next road infrastructure would be situated. He added.

The Honourable Member also appreciates the youths of the axis on how they monitored the quality of the construction process till completion, and for their unwavering support since they got wind of the project; he equally eulogized them for the enabling environment they afforded the contractors to operate optimally in without hitch.

” I wish to underscore at this point that my constituents should be rest assured that I would continue to work for them, inasmuch as they have reposed confidence in me thus far to represent them again at the Green Chamber. As you can see today’s road project commissioning is a testament that I won’t renege from any of my campaign promises, would only implore them to exercise patience as areas that are yet to receive my attention has already been mapped out, and in no distant time work shall commence in other areas of our Federal constituency” Hon. Ajilesoro promises

In his response to the high level of unemployment that bedevils the nation. He said, ” This has been one of our concerns as lawmakers, however, I can tell you that I have done a lot helping our youths to secure jobs under the Federal Government Ministries and Agencies, and this I would continue to do when opportunity for such arises.

Hon. Ajilesoro seized the commissioning of the projects to debunk the viral articles published by an online news agency sometime ago, when the road was under construction where it was allegedly reported that he falsely injected the projects into the national budget under shady deals.

He said ” let me tell you some of these reporters are uninformed. Just as the saying goes ” He who pays the Piper dictates his tune” Instead of exploring investigative journalism, they towed the path of those that might have sponsored the said publication. At a point, when the project was about to be abandoned due to paucity of fund, I knew how I lobbied my Bosses the likes of the Former speaker RT. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, now the Chief of Staff to the President, including Senator Yari and other Colleagues at the National Assembly to source for monies in form of budget lines before contractors were back on site for the completion of this project. So, publication of such couldn’t have been far-fetched in the political circle and I’m unperturbed, here we are today commissioning the project” Hon Ajilesoro clarifies.

The people’s representatives, Hon. Ajilesoro was received by a crowd of traders, artisans, market women, traditional rulers, religious scholars, and party faithful in the state.
