JUST IN: JAMB Uploads Additional 531 Out Of 64,000 Withheld UTME Results
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of an additional 531 results from the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), bringing the total number of released results to 1,842,897.
Following its commitment, the Board has commenced the review of over 64,000 previously withheld results. During this process, the number of identified cases of exam malpractice has risen to 92, up from the initial count of 81.
In a press statement by JAMB Public Communication Advisor (PCA), Dr. Fabian Benjamin, released on Tuesday, the Board disclosed its ongoing scrutiny of cases involving unverified candidates, with a promise to address them imminently.
Additionally, JAMB has refuted false claims circulating in certain publications alleging the scoring of an unknown candidate who did not participate in the 2024 UTME. The Board condemned these reports as baseless and urged the public to disregard such misleading information, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining integrity.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin commented, “The Board is not surprised as this is the season of mischief makers, who would want to deceive gullible candidates.”
Furthermore, JAMB revealed discoveries of manipulation, where individuals tampered with results issued to other candidates and presented them as authentic. In response, the Board affirmed its dedication to enhancing result verification processes to prevent such fraudulent activities.
To counteract these challenges, JAMB announced plans to introduce additional security features, including registration numbers, to the UTME result verification process, emphasizing the importance of candidates safeguarding their personal information.
Candidates are reminded to verify their results by sending ‘UTMERESULT’ to either 55019 or 66019, as the results are currently not accessible on the Board’s website.
Any collaboration with fraudulent parties will result in severe consequences for candidates. JAMB remains committed to upholding the integrity of the examination process and ensuring fairness for all candidates.
