In furtherance of his effort towards alleviating the present economic hardship on most members of his constituents, it was reliably gathered that the Member House of Representatives, Hon. Taofeek Abimbola Ajilersoro has once again performed one of his numerous representative functions. And the effect which of course is joy and hope is palpable on the people’s faces.

HeraldersTimes learnt that Hon. Ajileseoro fondly called the Stay Boy has not only motivated some Science Teachers across Ife federal constituency, however he has also strengthened the sinew of the able-bodied youths of Ife land in his quarterly empowerment programme that spans across the nooks and crannies of the ancient city, Ile-Ife and its environs.

Recall that this ranking member of the Green chamber doubles as the Chairman House Committee NASENI. A federal agency saddled with the responsibility of promoting and developing science, technology, and engineering infrastructure in the country. It was on this heel that this workaholic Parliamentarian midwifed the NASENI SKILLS ACQUISITION CENTRE to Ile-Ife, the cradle of the Yoruba. And as such, the ancient city continues to morph into entrepreneurial hub in skill acquisition within the South-southwest geo-political zone.

The workshop which took place at the NASENI CENTRE, on the 1st of November 2024 had in attendance Educators, Party Bigwigs, Community and Opinion leaders while the selected participants were Science Teachers extracted from both public and Private Secondary schools across Ife federal constituency. In this vein, it was also gathered that 350 Youths were trained for three days in solar panel installation and repairs while the artisans went through the crucible of ICT and Digital marketing for the same days.

Speaking with the selected Science Teachers of over hundred and Fifty in attendance was Dr. Kabiru Mustapha An Associate Professor from Kwara State University, Malete, Kwara State. During his speech, He spoke extensively on “MODERN TECHNOLOGICAL TRENDS AND TEACHING PRACTICES AS IT AFFECTS SCIENTIFIC EDUCATION”

Dr Mustapha equally enlightened the Science Teachers not only to adopt technological tools as part of their teaching methodologies but also to incorporate it when impacting knowledge into their students.

Among notable educationists within the State that graced the workshop with their presence was ; Mr Adeleke Babatunde, The Chairman Science Teachers Association of Nigeria, Osun State chapter.

Similarly, The Chairperson Association of Secondary schools Principal Ife East local government Chief (Mrs) Adisa Modupe Abiola, who doubles as the Principal St. Jones Grammar school lauded Hon . Ajileseoro for his foresight and political will to have brought such awakening workshop to the doorstep of the teachers.

“We are proud of you and equally appreciate your efforts for bringing this innovative workshop to sensitise our teachers in order to tilt towards modern technology application in their teaching practices. It means a lot to us, our prayers is that you continue to soar like the eagle and may God Almighty continue to order your steps” She stated.

Also, The secretary Ife East local government Education Authority, Hon. Isaiah Makinde Fayemi was captured by the HeraldersTimes correspondent as he presented Mini-Laptops, Instructional materials and Cash grants to the Science Teachers courtesy of Hon. Taofeek Abimbola Ajilersoro. It was also gathered that the Cash grant cuts across all other training classes and was received by all participants in the training.

Hon. Ajileseoro in his remarks while speaking via a Zoom conversation with the participants was quoted, saying “In the tech industry of today, education and skill-building are foundational pillars of empowerment. By so doing, we must collectively invest in robust educational programs an example is the science teachers workshop, ICT/ Digital marketing and Solar panel installation and repairs that you have seen for yourself today”

He therefore urged all the participants to make judicious use of all the resource materials and equipment received during their respective training classes; as he promises to continue speaking for the interest of every inhabitants of Ife federal constituency in his legislative assignment.

Fielding questions from newsmen is Mr Steve Ogundahunsi, a Chemistry teacher from Oranmiyan Grammar school who on behalf of the teachers eulogized Hon. Ajileseoro for opening ‘the book of rememberance’ upon the entire association of Science Teachers in Ife federal constituency.

” We are so grateful for this kind of event. This would be the very first in Ile-Ife and its environs. This is a program that touches not only the lifes of the participants however by extension the students under our watch in our various schools. We were all enthralled through the presentation of the resource persons; also amazed as we were all given mini-laptops and substantial amount of grants by the Organiser of this training, Hon. Ajileseoro. We are short of words, but we say thank you to the people’s representative” He recounted
