Kano Imbroglio: NNPP Stakeholders Pass No Confidence Vote on Gov. Yusuf.

In a significant development within the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), stakeholders from the 19 Northern States have passed a vote of no confidence in Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State. The move was announced in a communique released on Monday and jointly signed by Hon. Attahiru Musa, President of the Concerned NNPP Stakeholders group, and Hon. Simon Pam, Secretary.

The NNPP stakeholders expressed deep disappointment with the current trajectory of the party, particularly in Kano State. They accused the state leadership of falling short of expectations and failing to deliver on its promises of change and improvement.

The communique criticized the NNPP’s performance in Kano State, arguing that the party’s leadership is “worse than the government at the center and the previous administration.” The party’s leadership had previously been seen as a beacon of hope for change in the state.

Governor Yusuf, initially considered a transformative figure for Kano State, was expected to clear the mess left by successive governments. However, stakeholders claim his administration has failed to live up to these expectations and has not provided a strong voice against the APC government.

The ongoing dispute between Governor Yusuf and his predecessor, Umar Ganduje, the current National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), adds to the political tension in the state. The state government has announced plans to prosecute Ganduje for alleged financial misappropriation during his tenure as governor.
