Mrs Victoria Oluwaseun Oyewusi Honours National Association of Blind invitation, Canvasses support from Government.

….. Says embracing people living with disabilities can help them to attain their ordained potentials, rather than discriminating them in the society.

Mrs Victoria Oluwaseun Oyewusi, the Initiator of the household name initiatives in Osun state, ONE COMMUNITY ONE INDUSTRY was gathered to have honoured the invitation of the Osun State chapter of the National Association of Blind. The said association, had organized a 3 – days annual conference for its youths across the south-west states; Which was hosted by the Osun State chapter of the association.

Mrs Oyewusi, as the Grand Matron of the association in Osun state. she is known for using her fame and influence to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people with visual impairment, with the possibility of raising funds and midwifing empowerments for the association.

During the opening ceremony of the 3 days South- west annual conference of the association. She attended, While the aim of her visit was to identify with this association, also to discuss surmountable constraints plaguing these category of youths— with the hope to wade in as usual to assuage their plight.

Recall that, Mrs Oyewusi in her usual Spirit of fellowship had sometimes ago extended similar gesture to the Persons Living with Disabilities in Osun State. It was however, gathered that the then leadership of the association in Osun state , had approached her to train its Members; offering pleas that she should permit them to pay a service charges equivalent to half of her training fees.

Mrs Oyewusi, in her benevolent spirit ended up training hundreds of these physically challenged persons for days pro Bono— that is; done without compensation, and for the public good.

Prior to this year’s annual conference of the Group, Mrs Oyewusi said, she had taken it upon herself to meet with some top government functionaries in the state— chief among those she met with was her closed door meeting with the Deputy governor of Osun State, His Excellency Prince Kola Adewusi. Likewise, she equally recounted her audience with Hon. Bayo Ogunbangbe commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment ahead of the Opening ceremony of the annual conference of the association.

In her speech at the event, she said ” I’m happy to be in your midst today to celebrate with you. I urge you all never to quiver in the face of seemingly impossible life challenges. I can assure you that with your zeal, perseverance, determination and quest to succeed. The sky is just your beginning. Prior today, I have reached out to some people of authority on your behalf. I’m hopeful, they’ll surely join us in the course of this event. I implore you to prioritize your requests, table it before them. It’s my belief that some, if not all of those constraints you are facing shall be addressed”

She continued in her remarks, as saying that members of the public should shun discriminations whatsoever, towards the physically challenged in the society. She maintained further, that when one embraces them with listening ears, one would be surprised; that there are hidden potentials embedded in them that can be unlock, thereby bringing them forth to public limelight.

While the event was ongoing, the Osun State Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Bayo Ogunbangbe was warmly received with melody by members of an orchestra; whom were also physically challenged in the fold.

In his remarks, Hon. Ogunbangbe expressed appreciation to Mrs Oyewusi for calling on him to attend the event. He also assured members of the association having heard their constraints, that he would communicate their requests to the appropriate quarters.

He concluded as saying, “The state chapter of the association of the blind should be expectant of Osun State Government intervention”

Members of an orchestra whom are physically challenged

” Today, I have seen what I haven’t seen, and equally experienced what I have never experienced. It’s an understatement to say that I’m surprised. Still imagining the way they danced, coupled with the professionalism displayed by the orchestra, and with their composure. This is absolutely incredible” Hon. Ogunbangbe added.

With Mrs Victoria Oluwaseun at this year’s annual conference of the Association of Blind is Mr Bisi Oyewusi, her husband, and members of staff of her initiatives. Others that attended includes technocrats, Security Bosses and religious scholars.
