NIGERIA WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL IF WE WORK TOGETHER TO ENSURE UNITY— ADEWOPO
The only way the people of the country can work and live together in harmony is for all Nigerians to ensure that unity and peace reign supreme, Dr. Ayoade Adewopo has said.
Dr. Adewopo who is one of the House of Representatives aspirants under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, made this known during his Eld-Al- Fitri, Sallah message to all the people of Osun State and Nigerians at large.
According to him, no nation becomes great if the people are not united and patriotic to help the development of such country, saying that virtually all the great nations in the world today build their greatness though unity and sense of purpose of their people.
He pointed out that Nigeria cannot in any way be isolated from this because that is what was needed at this crucial moment to stabilize the country and move to the next level.
He called on Nigerians to use the Ramadan and the Eld-Al- Fitri celebration, for a total rededication of their lives to the country and be prepared to make sacrifice and do what would make the country great, rather than waiting and wanting what they could only get or derive from Nigeria.
He said with the spirit of the Ramadan, the sing song in Nigeria today is how the country would survive economically, socially, and politically, while the Ramadan which has just ended should teach all of us to be loyal, honest and be prepared to serve the country and see it to greatness.
He said that what is happening in Nigeria today called for a total repentance from those who are not willing to allow for peace.
‘’Nigeria is a great country and the only way to develop it in all ramifications, especially, technologically and industrially is to have peace.’’
He called on the people to shun crime, and unwarranted killings of innocent people across the country, adding that bloodletting would always diminish the country and that we should remember that shedding innocent blood is a taboo and against the will of God.
He called on the security operatives in the country to be more vigilant and alive to their responsibilities so that they would continue to fish out criminals who are denting the image of Nigeria.
