Consequently, due to the myriads of infarction that engulfed the recruitment process; which were later revealed to have contravened the established norms in the history of the hospital, majority of these staffs recruited in the last 365 days or thereabouts have been working without payment.
As if, the plight of the workers would be promptly addressed having cried out when it seemed they had exceeded their endurance limit. But it later got Messier and eventually cascaded into an albatross.
This publication was also informed that the Honourable Minister for Health, The person of Prof. Muhammad Alli pate, has set up committees to unravel the mystery behind the ugly reports emanating from OAUTHC, Ile-Ife before his desk with the mandate that the committee comes up with possible recommendations to address it. Some of the affected clinicians who spoke with our correspondent on anonymity said, ” their hopes seemed to have been dashed and same became worrisome that ever Since the Committee concluded its findings, yet nothing has changed to ameliorate or placate the non-payment of staff salaries spanning over a year”.
To make matters worse; barely a month ago, available reports from sources within the Teaching Hospital revealed the exodus retrenchment of the fact that newly recruited workers have been perfected, and was to take effect.
Rumbustiously, the massive retrenchment approach explored by the Management of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, which some Quarters has described has “an unwise decision” has further ingnites attrition between the union leaders in the Hospital and the Management. In an effort to forestall breakdown of law and order, our correspondent have reported the deployment of massive security presence of armed forces within the main premise in Ile-Ife and its annex, Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesha, Osun State.

During our meeting with the CMD, we x-rayed further into the employment brouhaha that begun since 2022 and yet to be resolved. It’s quite appalling that this is happening, and as the one representing this federal constituency. I really want to make a move by presenting this issues before the Parliament; before this could be achieved, I need to know the aetiology of the whole thing so as to have the mastery of what I would present before the hollow chamber of the 10th House of Representatives”
He stressed further: “The CMD gave an elaborate explanation and what leads to the report out there about retrenchment of workers. However, due to the sensitive nature of our discussion, I would rather pause here for now, and reserve those germane and salient points of our discussion from the public”.
“After this briefing with the CMD, myself and my team would dissect it further; I want to assure the public and those affected that I would do all within my best in this regard”
Similarly, when asked that there are those who would say, he ought not to be the only member of the National Assembly that is expected to meet with the CMD of the Teaching Hospital.
Hon . Ajilesoro responded as saying, ” This is my Federal Constituency, and what happened in OAUTHC affects me more than any other Members of the National Assembly in the state.” In respect to this, If the Parliament wants to deal with pertinent issues of national importance as we have witnessed in the case of OAUTHC. I Hon. Taoofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro, would be in the rightful position to give credible information to the Parliament. Nobody can move such motion except me” He Maintained.
