Ondo Imbroglio: Forensic Investigations Reveal Akeredolu’s Signatures Forged — CSO Raises Eyebrows

The political terrain in the sunshine state is unbecoming of its known image among comity of states in the country. As there were emerging reports alleging that state actors within the cabinet of Governor Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN), has taken undue advantage of his ailment, to milked the state’s treasury under shady and clandestine deals with forged signatories purported to have emanated from the Governor.

As such, this has raised questions about the authenticity of correspondence received; thus far, by the State Executive Council from the Governor in the last three months. The question in the lips of sons and daughters of the sunshine state is; Who has assumed the role of the Governor by proxy in this regard?

Recall that HeraldersTimes has reported, how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is also the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) meddled in the impeachment crises that engulfed the political climate of the state. In order to forestall anarchy that might eventually torn the state apart; as it progresses ahead of another electioneering cycle in the state.

The president brought all the warring factions aboard, and instructed them to withdraw all pending litigations in Court for the interest of democracy, and smooth running of governance in the state.

In another turn of events, just as if the tension has been doused by the President’s Fatherly counsel to all parties to sheath their sword. Another ugly report has reared its ugly head, and finds it way into the media Space; as it was allegedly reported that he Governor Akeredolu’s Signatures were forged by some high profile members of his cabinet.

Speaking in an interactive media session on Politics Today, via Channels Television was the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation Hon. (Mrs) Bamidele Ademola-Olateju.

Hon. Bamidele asserts that Governor Akeredolu’s affective psychomotor and cognitive skills are intact, contrary to the public notions out there about his health.

In her words during the conversation, She said ” I speak with Governor Akeredolu barely two weeks ago, there’s nothing of such that he cannot perform activities of daily living. Although, he might not be as agile as before the onset of his health challenges; however, he’s recuperating speedily and he has been accenting to series of files”

Reacting to the alleged signature forgery; the Commissioner for Information described the report has scandalous. She elucidated further as saying, it is an aberration for anyone to take government documents to a private entities without authorisation. ” It is criminal, if not idiotic” She stated.

” As a government, we are going to delve further into this allegation, as much as I believe that forgery must not be condoned under any guise. More so, I must say it is unethical to have taken possession of government documents for Investigation without the institution of the state.

” I have received two documents from the Governor in the last couple weeks, and I could say that the signature on those documents; Although, the Governor has three signatures, however the documents in my possession is a replica of the exact signature of the Governor. It will also interest the public to know that sometimes ago the Governor cleared the air on this—that none of his signatures were forged”. Ondo State Information Commissioner maintained.

In a Contradictory response during the conversation was Mr Kolawole Johnson, the Director Research Strategy and Planning who objected to the submission made by the Commissioner of Information on the allege forgery of Governor Akeredolu’s Signature.

In his contribution, he said that with the plethora of documents his organisation is privy to, which have been proven by forensic analyst.

There’s a prima facie evidence to corroborate existing disparities in the signatures appended on the documents as purportedly emanated from the Governor.

Mr Kolawole Johnson established further that tenth of billions of naira has been awarded with the revealed forged signatures. He deflated Mrs Bamidele’s submission further that those documents she claimed to have been signed by Governor Akeredolu does not emanated from the Governor.

He equally uncovered that Governor Akeredolu whose correspondence was claimed to have exchanged from his desk, has actually left the country in the last three weeks.

Mr Kolawole Johnson challenges the information Commissioner to submit those documents she claimed to have carried the Governor’s signature for forensic investigation, if she is bold enough.

He added that the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), has been petitioned already.

He concluded, “In order for politicians who have been caught in the web not to frustrate our investigation, it’s premature to reel out figures awarded as contract under the revealed Signature; In no distant time, as soon as the time is ripe for it, our findings shall be made public”
