PANDEMONIUM AS BANDITS DISTRUPT ACADEMIC SESSION IN KADUNA SCHOOL, ABDUCT 200 PUPILS, TEACHERS.

In spite of the efforts achieved so far by the Tinubu’s led-administration to comb-out Bandits, Boko-Haram and other criminal elements from their cocoons in the country. Another insurgent report has been reported to had reared its ugly head again, as Bandits stormed LGEA primary school, Kuriga (1), Chikun local government area of Kaduna state, and kidnapped more than 200 pupils and teachers.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Thursday, March 7, 2023, at about 8:20 am, immediately after the morning assembly.

A former senator from Kaduna, Shehu Sani, felt sad about what happened. He said it’s tragic that 232 students were kidnapped in Kuriga village, Chikun LG, in Kaduna State.

He said, “It’s tragic to hear that 232 students have just been kidnapped in Kuriga village, Chikun LG in Kaduna State.”

Sani, recalling a prior incident in the same village, remained optimistic, saying, “However, I’m optimistic their freedom will be secured.”

Several years ago, citing security concerns, the junior and secondary schools had relocated from their original site outside Kuriga town to the current school building. This move left behind an abandoned structure.

Locals recounted the chaos that ensued during the attack, with most pupils fleeing their classrooms upon spotting the bandits on the school premises. Witnesses, like Shitu and Lawal Kuriga, reported that the abducted victims were subsequently marched into the forest.

As of the report’s filing, neither the state government nor the police had issued an official response to the incident. The accuracy of the figure provided by the former senator remains unconfirmed by law enforcement.

In the face of this distressing development, the community awaits official actions and statements to address the abduction of the pupils and teachers from LGEA Primary School in Kuriga.
