The Katsina State Police Command has successfully rescued 100 kidnapped victims and eliminated five suspected bandits, as announced by ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the command’s spokesman, during a press briefing in Katsina on Friday.

ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu unveiled the remarkable achievements of the Katsina State Police Command for the month of March, which included the recovery of 658 rustled animals and the apprehension of 11 suspected murderers and 29 rapists. The command’s relentless efforts resulted in the resolution of 51 major crime cases, ranging from armed robbery to cattle rustling.

Out of these cases, 30 involving 64 suspects were successfully charged to court. Sadiq-Aliyu highlighted the arrest of nine suspects for armed robbery and 19 others for various offenses such as intimidation, incitement, and theft.

Furthermore, the command displayed its commitment to supporting the families of fallen police officers by presenting a cheque of over N4.5 million to 13 bereaved families. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, DCP Aminu Usman-Gusau, conveyed the gesture on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aliyu Abubakar-Musa. The financial support, sourced from Group Life and Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Schemes, aims to provide assistance to the families of deceased personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
