Victoria Oluwaseun Oyewusi: World of a                  Seasoned Entrepreneur (Part 1)

It has become imperative to keenly analyse the imprint of an Amazon in the world of entrepreneurship: one whose initiatives are beginning to rent the atmosphere. Mrs Oyewusi who is the focus of this writeup through her initiatives has carved a niche for herself, thus, becoming a household name not only within her immediate environment but Osun State as a whole.

For some depth as reporters, can we talk about this Ibokun born Amazon—who rose to become the cornerstone of the House without talking about her zest for entrepreneurship? Apparently no. It is so glaring that the initiator of One Community One Industry (O.C.O.I) cannot by any means be isolated nor separated from any discussion on entrepreneural ingenuity. Simply put, she remains a miscible component when it comes to the chemistry of human business expertise.

Mrs Victoria Oluwaseun Oyewusi, an industrialist-cum-motivational Speaker with many laurels in entrepreneurship rose to an enviable height. She, through her passion, vigor and dexterity, has built an edifice of hope in the heart of humanity. Hardly could one listen to her voice when she speaks without being quivered and inspired, especially when it is understood like in her case, that out of a broken piece of one’s life an edifice of hope can be built.

To add further to the motive behind this article as earlier mentioned: it is to bring on board what can be described as indelible imprint of her giant strides, thereby, inspiring many youths out there to be self-reliant. Still on the point, it is to encourage others too who have excelled in various business endeavours, just like she has been doing, to keep extending their hands of camaraderie to the less-privileged in the society— with the sole aim of equipping them with one trading skills or the other. No doubt, this has the potential of making them relevant and useful to themselves and their families.

Mrs Oyewusi is a woman whom observers have described to be naturally imbued with native intelligence from the ways she impacts knowledge, confidence, and equally treats people, whether familiar or non-familiar—the feeing is warm and cordial. Little did she know she has earned herself a score-card since she offers to train residents of Osun State in one skill acquisition or the other free of charge within a twelve-calendar month. In fact, what a woman with heart of gold—giving back to her community. Not only that, there have also been reports of many more laudable interventions to her credit through her NGO named “LET’S SHARE IT”.

Since, it has become impossible to isolate this woman of great valor from her entrepreneurial career, then, it’s pertinent to say that the beautifully generous heart she is endowed with took root from her humble background. However, for space and time, this is beyond the scope of this article. But for material emphasis, she Victoria Oluwaseun Oyewusi has always alluded that she learned trading from her maternal grandmother of blessed memory.

Nevertheless, history teaches us that the original entrepreneurs were traders and merchants. Going further, certain school of thought revealed that the first known instance of human trading in commodities comes from New Guinea where entrepreneurs of those days were reported to have exchanged one set of goods for another. So this further lays credence to how she metamorphosed from petty trading to a full fledged, world class entrepreneurship.

With encouragement from her husband Mr Bisi Oyewusi who resides in the United States of America, and whom she has always described as her great pillar of support, things worked for the better. She has made a huge impact despite the fact that her new field differs from a trained career. She has hit the spotlight just as she her story has continued to leave the audience curious.

In essence, Victoria Oluwaseun Oyewusi is one of those women who have shaped the entrepreneural world diversely, and have driven the public to a state of healthy curiosity. Now one or two important points about her initiatives.

ONE COMMUNITY INITIATIVES, focuses on organizing various categories of workshop on skill acquisitions, conversion of agricultural wastes into wealth. Through this, there have been testimonies of how those that partook in any of her training sessions are now making ends meet—having learned the nitty-gritty of recycling agricultural wastes vis-a-vis; plantains stalk, black coco-pod, corn stalk, coconut shell etc, to finished products in the production of Black Soap.

The company is aware of how important cutting edge-technology is. As such, the initiative is to delve into research on how to bring on board improved coconut seedlings. Without gainsaying, the CEO of One Community Initiatives remains a factor worthy of reckoning for the role she plays in her home state, especially in sensitizing the public through various media houses on the need for one house to plant a coconut tree.

Consequent upon this, her vision to create commercial nerve centre of coconut plantation in her home state is beginning to come to fruition. Apparently, our reporters that visited the headquarters of the company located at Ibokun in Osun state reported how hundreds of coconut seedlings were planted in rows with evergreen leaves occupying hectares of the landscape of the industry.

With the vision of Mr and Mrs Oyewusi–whom our reporters had an encounter with–in the next 4 years or thereabout, their industry in Osun State will be at the centre of commerce in coconut production and coconut oil processing not only in the state, but across the South Western part of the country. As the saying goes, seeing is believing!

Conclusively, Mrs Victoria Oluwaseun Oyewusi has also made a lot of exploit through her feed mill facility located along Ijebu-Ijesa Road in Ilesha. She also specializes in Organic Black Soap production selling both at retail and wholesale prices. All her products are duly certified by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). Emerging testimonies from many of her customers have further corroborated the unadulterated quality of her coconut oil. With recent studies, the Very High Density Lipoprotein property (VHDL) of her coconut oil has further laid credence to its health benefits, especially in the management of diabetes and some related skin infections. She has also recorded a great feat with her unique brand of locust beans processing; containing many flavors, e.g chicken flavor, cray-fish flavor as well as other naturally occuring additives that put her products on a high pedestal amidst her contemporaries.

To summarize, One Community Initiatives, exhibits its products and services weekly on Radio Station and on the internet for clients to choose from. All the products can also be delivered to distant clients when demands are placed on them. One Community Initiatives is an enterprise that has grown in popularity around the world as many of its products are now being considered for export by the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
