Wike Chides Wabara as PDP BOT Chairman.

…Says he Wabara unfit for the Office

The FCT Minister Nyesom
Wike has criticized Senator Adolphus Wabara, the former Senate President and current Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), labeling him as an “inconsistent character” and a “sellout” unworthy of his leadership position.

Wike expressed his disapproval of Wabara’s recent actions, particularly his endorsement of Abia State Governor Alex Otti, a member of the Labour Party, for a second term, despite Otti not yet completing his first year in office. Wike questioned how Wabara, as PDP BOT chairman, could back a candidate from another party.

“Wabara is the PDP BOT chairman, yet he has already declared that Governor Otti’s second term is secured. This is someone from another political party, and he calls himself the conscience of the PDP,” Wike stated.

Wike further criticized Wabara’s leadership, questioning his qualifications and the circumstances under which he became the BOT chairman. He recounted how Wabara led a delegation during the PDP’s internal crisis over the party’s presidential candidate in 2023 but failed to produce a report on their findings.

“He led a team to visit me during the PDP crisis about the presidential candidate. Where is the report? The next day, they made him acting chairman of the PDP BOT as a form of compensation,” Wike added.
